Charles Leclerc will start the US GP from pole position after an exciting qualifying session at the Circuit of the Americas. The Ferrari driver finished 0.130 seconds faster than McLaren’s Lando Norris, setting a benchmark time of 1:34.723. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was third fastest, just 0.009 seconds behind Briton Norris and less than a tenth faster than the second Ferrari of Carlos Sainz.
Β Β Max Verstappen set the fastest time but was denied a lap after exceeding the track restrictions at Turn 19 and will start sixth behind the second Mercedes of George Russell. Pierre Gasly took the Alpine duo to seventh and eighth, Sergio Perez secured ninth and Oscar Piastri 10th.
